".....We Mentadent fans primarily choose this brand because of the form factor, i.e., the convenience of dispensing toothpaste (and closing it again!) with just one hand so the other hand is free to, say, hold a toothbrush. The toothpaste itself is first-rate, on par with the big name brands and available in the same varieties (whitening, baking soda, etc.) but not measurably better.

To get started, you must purchase an Mentadent starter item like this one. It has everything you need and will last quite a while. Then you can keep the pump base and move into the world of buying only refills. I've done this for years, and only bought this starter pump-plus-toothpaste so my teenage daughter would have her own. I think it was her favorite Christmas present, but she is a bit strange. More likely, I don't really understand teenage girls. ....."
